LIT: On the Road

Since I haven’t been fishing in about two weeks, and won’t get on the water until Thursday at the earliest, I’m posting about the book I’m reading. Or rereading. There are certain books I reread every few years (A Conferacy of Dunces, Henderson the Rain King, Killing Mr. Watson, Hell’s Angels by Hunter S. Thompson) including On the Road. Passages like the one below make me remember why…

Carlo Marx: “I have finally taught Dean that he can do anything he wants, become the mayor of Denver, mary a millionairess, or become the greatest poet since Rimbaud. But he keeps rushing out to see the midget auto races.”
