Seeking Funding…
I’m looking for funding from someone willing to sponsor my proposed research project, where I will spend the next year living in the Everglades National Park studying what happens to fly hooks after they’ve become embedded in the jaws of baby tarpon.*
For control, I will use resident snook and redfish populations, and eventually move onto full grown adult tarpon. Practice will occur up here on northeast striped bass and bluefish concentrations until budget and supply needs are met.
I’ll need 300-500 weedless mangrove bugs, several pounds of beef jerky, and a drum barrel of DEET. As far as corporate sponsorship, so far I have generated interest from the American Mustache Institute, and several other heavy hitters. Interested parties can contact me directly.
*I haven’t shared this idea with the wife yet, but I know what she’ll say: This plan is awesome in its awesomeness.

We’ll supply the jerky.
I’ll kick in for the beer…you gotta have beer…All I ask is a job working for this new non-profit conservation minded group.
Now things are rolling. Beer and jerky can smooth over a lot of rough edges.
I have a mobile place to stay .Out Of the bugs and rain If there is 110 near by it has air conditioning Need a data taker?
Crowldawg, you’re good with tools, right? Maybe we can commission you to build the old school skiff…I’ll add it to the funding list.
I have an old 19′ carolina dory skiff getting rebuilt in my garage .Draws about 2 ” with the motor up .Ive had it since ‘74 still have the ‘72 ,25 evinrude that it came with.I kind of forgot about it when I bought a 23 center console .They both are in Rehab now.
There is bound to be a government grant in here somewhere.
If you can convince my wife to not get too comfortable with me being gone, I’ll volunteer as the resident fly tyer and epicure.
Flies and food…done and done
