NYC METRO: Summer Patterns

Summer patterns are in step. Striped bass are mostly in the domain of vampires. Daytime is for other things; taking boat rides to check out the waterfalls, stalking bluefish, waiting for the albies and bonito, monitoring the Gilgo Surf Cam…What else is there to do?

Tons of stuff. Late night pitch-n-putt, go to the livestock auction and cruise the 4-H chicks, throw stuff off the bridge…

    Hey Pete,

Long time no speak… I tell you what I am in agreement on the no daytime bass… Been hitting a beach front at about 3am with some bass on it… by 7am they are gone! Funny… but summer!

  2. Nate, good to hear from you. We should chase after some blues soon or get out there off Breezy (by boat) when the albies come in.

  3. I wish I had the means to hunt cow bass near the Brooklyn Bridge, but until I do I’ll be waiting on the shores of Floyd Bennett Field for the fall run. Another option is Largemouths at Central and Prospect Park. It beats the wait game without the gas.

  4. I fish Central Park a few times a year, usually in the spring. I keep meaning to try Prospect but have yet to get out there.

    Hey Pete,

Let me know and I am in! The bonito should be showing up soon… and I am spending days on the tip of BP just waiting… Let me know when you want to fish and I will be fishing probably a couple days this week in the area!
