    Hey Pete,

Went out last night around 7pm… Lots of little bait around with terns on it next to the beach… fish were probably there, but the light was too low… Caught a couple nice blues and a bass once the sun went down… Heard some tuna looking fish around and I’m going to go all day tomorrow… I have some Bluefin pics from a couple weeks ago I’ll get to you…Nate

  2. Sweet. I haven’t been fishing up in these parts in two weeks I think; have been down in Florida a lot of late for work purposes.

You ty them yourself? Nice! What size hooks are you using ?

  4. Made from plastic, as in the plastic used to purchase them at the Urban Angler in NYC. No time to tie of late. Size 4 albie anchovies.

    Pete,
The past five years the only flies I have used for albies have been Crease Flies. They work when the are blasting on bait balls and they work even better when the fish are scattered along the beach and you only see sporadic surface feeding activity. Cast it near where you saw a fish bust and give it a couple pops and let it sit and they will often eat if when all else is quiet. Something to think about for you anyway.

  7. hey i have been tasked with writing some tips on catching Tuna (for Mexican fishing). I was wondering if you had any advise for Cabo San Lucas fishing

    Thanks bud

    Hey Pete,

Covered the South Shore from BP to Debs… Nothing but bass and blues… The water looks good and there are some banded rudder fish and jellies around… Been out the past 5 days though without a tunid encounter inshore…crossing my fingers!

  9. Hey Nate,

Just got back from a trip to Rhode Island. We saw very sporatic bonito there but we only got one between two boats. Hammered the stripers though.

Not that it matters much, but the guy who took my” meat stick” away from me and handed me a fly rod 20 yrs ago was Capt. Joe Baldos .I never realized how famous that fly would become.
We used to kill those fish.

  11. Is Capt. Baldos still fishing? Out East?

As far as I know. He used to have a web site . As time goes on I spend more time on the beach an he in his boat .The last time I talked to him he said most of his charters were sight fishing for bass .I’m sure he is out there chasing albies
