A guide in Alaska named Miles Nolte posts accounts from his life on the river into a thread on The Drake Magazine forums. The thread gets a following. One of the readers starts a publishing company. He signs up Nolte to write a book based on his thread:

  1. yup, ya just never know… applies to books and everything really .. take the internet for example .. who would have guessed that all it needed was a ‘little’ search bar to organize the 108,810,358 websites, give or take a couple hunred million:) .. so 2 students (Sergey Brin and Larry Page) create a simple 1 page website with “nothing more” than a logo and a search bar .. call it a funny name like google! … and bingo, next thing ya know you have 4.5 BILLION unique visits per day, 16,805 employees and your makin 3O BILLION bucks a year (give or take a couple billion.) …. Wish I woulda thought of that… anyway, i got a little of topic, but to your point pete .. agreed, ya never know.

  7. Sure, but I don’t think anybody actually knows how to play bongos. I think you just have them and beat on them and that’s about it.
