Deconstructed

Last month a newspaper reporter and writer named Morgan Sherburne wrote an essay about some of my blog posts. (The connection: Morgan is dating Matt Dunn, who does Fishbeer, one of my favorite blogs.)

Prior, I had not heard the term “Flash Essay.” I just like to write short.

Here’s the link to Morgan’s post on Essay Daily.

      1. Thanks, Pete. It’s fun having access to some of the best tiers around. Hoping to really dive into it once I get settled in on the west coast & get these Africa work gigs outta the way.

  1. Blaise Paschal wrote at the end of a letter “Je n’ai fait celle-ci plus longue que parce que je n’ai pas eu le loisir de la faire plus courte.” Or, in English, “I have made this longer than usual because I have not had time to make it shorter.”

Your writing is tight, and your effort shows.

  2. It’s so much easier to just vomit words onto the page than to use imagination and play out the scene, shaving it down to the skeleton of the thing.

    I read, and enjoyed.
