  The canals of South Florida had business that needed tending. Mark Hall of Fly Fish Florida Peacocks hooked us up. Corey Kruitbosch rolled through town on his way to the Keys and took pictures (his will be much better than mine posted here.)   The fish got a little pissed off at being tricked.   Corey also rocked a tilapia.

Advancements in Fly Fishing Body Art

In the trout and trout art sense, Utah is happening. First, Corey Kruitbosch knocked it out with the recent Drake cover and conceptual fly tying photo-essay. Then my friend and former colleague Cody (Chris) sends word about how he’s preparing for the upcoming streamer season. The artwork for his new ink comes courtesy of a barter deal with his friend Jason Merkley, a painter of trout. Next is the coloring phase. Cody writes, “It’s  supposed to be a Utah cutthroat, which will obviously become more apparent after the telltale slash of red is added.”

Rewards, originally uploaded by cor23.* His name and images, like one of our favorites above, are showing up everywhere in the fly fishing industry. Based out of Ogden, Utah, Corey Kruitbosch (here’s his blog) actually has a day job in the gaming industry but still gets it done on the water with a rod and a lens. Somewhere between his job and his passion he found the time to answer a few questions about photography. All the sudden your photography is showing up everywhere; The Drake, This Is Fly, Catch, Midcurrent. How did you go from working in the gaming industry to getting paid gigs shooting fly fishing pics? Honestly, I couldn’t really give you a solid answer. I am pretty blown away myself.…
